Wilderness First Aid
Location: Kamshet, Maharashtra
Dates: August 25th – 27th, 2023
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course with Adult & Child Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a 2 ½ – day internationally certified course with 20 hours of instruction (WFA 16 hours + 4 hours CPR). This is an entry-level course and will benefit anyone who has an interest in wilderness medicine and prepares participants to deal with medical emergencies that may occur in outdoor and urban settings.
The Paragliding Association of India has partnered with Hanifl Centre of Woodstock School, Mussoorie to bring this course to the paragliding community of India. Further, Hanifl has collaborated with Aerie Backcountry Medicine (ABM), Montana, U.S.A. to teach these courses in India. ABM-trained instructors are highly-trained from the USA and have decades of teaching and outdoor field experience. WFA participants that meet course expectations get a Wilderness Medicine Manual besides the three cards (Certifications); Wilderness First Aid , ‘Epinephrine Auto-Injector’ and CPR. These cards are accredited by Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) and American Heart Association (AHA). This course is also recognised by Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF).
Curriculum
Full Patient Assessment & Extended Care; Injury-Illness Identification & Management including: Bleeding Control, Shock, Spinal Injuries, Head Injuries, Chest Wounds, Sprains & Strains, Fractures & Dislocations, Splinting, Cold Injuries, Heat Illnesses, Lightning, Altitude Illnesses, Drowning, Anaphylaxis, Bites & Stings, Medical Illnesses, Wounds & Wound Management, Patient moves & Litter carries, Asthma, Diabetes, Abdominal Emergencies, Burns, Environmental Emergencies; Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) including MI, Angina & Stroke; Emergency Response Procedures, etc.

Number of participants: Minimum 17 and Maximum 30 participants per course
Duration: Two and a half days
Dates: August 25th – 27th, 2023
Timing: August 26th & 27th – 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, August 25th – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Venue: Paragliding Mantra, kamshet
Course Fee: For All members 9000

- In case we do not receive minimum participation registrations, PAI will refund the course fee in full
